總經費五千萬、歷時二年修復的縣定古蹟新埔潘屋，1月16日在枋寮國小舞獅隊及田屋北管八音團的精彩演出暖場後，舉辦剪綵竣工典禮，未來由家族營運開放參觀，串聯新埔各宗祠家廟建築群，結合人文地景產業，讓新埔亮起來。剪綵儀式後，修復計畫潘屋召集人潘鵬仁親自導覽，介紹孝友傳家的古訓、大廳放著鏡子和小鐘象徵「終生平靜」的典故、並一一到每個廳、房、前庭後院參觀，縣長楊文科肯定修復後的潘屋完整重現客家建築工藝與歷史場景，顯露出百年前毫宅的家族大氣。

楊縣長表示，新埔在清代因為交通位置便利，是各路農產貨物產銷集散地，聚集了許多商家店舖。在拓墾時期，為了面對外在競爭，各姓紛紛建立起宗祠家廟與宅第，一方面糾合眾人之力團結合作，一方面展現家族實力地位，於是有今日新埔三街六巷九宗祠之稱。新埔潘屋整體形態穩重方正，呈現與承載的歷史、建築、藝術價值，堪稱是新埔傳統建築群中的經典之作。

文化局長李安妤表示，新埔潘屋於民國74年公告為縣定古蹟，一直由家族居住管理維護。自民國100年起陸續獲得客委會、文化部等中央補助辦理修復前置作業的調查、設計，107年在縣府、家族攜手合作下，爭取到文化部補助總經費5042萬元辦理修復工程。

新埔潘屋200多年來歷經幾次變更修建，因此屋頂部分是紅瓦、部分為黑瓦。本次修復將屋頂統一為黑瓦，符合古蹟原貌，同時將地坪、基礎、牆身、屋架桁樑、屋瓦做檢視修復，也特意保留建築中極具藝術價值的彩繪灰泥花磚。施工過程中，意外發現灰泥牆壁裡隱藏著13處射擊槍口，包括門口左右兩側，以及窗檯下方，都有槍口可以對外射擊，外牆窗框也能作為射擊位置，如同對建築內部人員、財貨安全的保護火網。相當程度反映當時社會環境對防禦性的需求，也是先民胼手胝足守護家園的最好見證。文化資產需要公私協力共同保護珍惜，文化局正以新埔宗祠建築群為範疇，以跨領域整合、系統性保存活化，爭取文化部前瞻基礎建設--再造歷史現場計畫，希望重現新埔拓墾時期各宗族不畏艱難、建立家業的文化價值與精神，也讓更多人理解新埔的驕傲與榮光。

這次修復計畫潘屋召集人，同時也是財團法人義民中學董事長潘鵬仁先生，感謝中央部會與縣府的協助，家族成員支持，多年努力終於讓潘屋重現古蹟風華。修復完成後的營運活化是重責大任，親自收集整理家族史料、照片、家具文物等，規劃展示動線與撰寫文稿，介紹家族歷史與先人事蹟，讓子孫後代感念，力行「孝友傳家」的家訓。他說，未來潘屋將採預約開放參觀，室內將展示潘屋修復工程紀錄與潘屋家族相關文物，並計畫引入輕食咖啡茶飲、文創手作者進駐，以永續營運活化歷史空間。

文化局表示，新埔宗祠博物館9處文資點已完成8處修復，區域重點將由古蹟硬體修復逐漸轉型為文化資產串聯、教育推廣及活化營運，以彰顯地方特色文化及豐富區域。

Li Anyu, director of culture, stated that Xinpu Panwu was declared a county monument in 1974 and has been managed and maintained by the family. Since the Republic of China, it has successively received subsidies from the Guest Committee, the Ministry of Culture and other central authorities for the investigation and design of the restoration pre-repair work. In 107, with the cooperation of the county government and the family, the Ministry of Culture has won a total subsidy of 50.42 million yuan for the restoration project. .

Xinpu Panwu has undergone several changes and constructions over the past 200 years, so the roof is partly red and partly black. In this restoration, the roof is unified into black tiles, which conforms to the original appearance of the historical site. At the same time, the floor, foundation, wall, roof truss and roof tiles are inspected and restored, and the painted stucco tiles with great artistic value in the building are also specially preserved. During the construction process, it was accidentally discovered that 13 shooting muzzles were hidden in the plaster walls, including the left and right sides of the door, and under the windowsills. There were muzzles for shooting to the outside, and the window frames on the outer wall could also be used as shooting positions, just like the interior of the building. The fire network protects the safety of personnel and property. A considerable degree reflects the defensive needs of the social environment at that time, and it is also the best testimony of the ancestors guarding their homes with their hands and feet. Cultural assets need public and private cooperation to protect and cherish. The Cultural Affairs Bureau is taking the Xinpu Ancestral Hall complex as its category, integrating cross-domain integration, systematic preservation and activation, and striving for the Ministry of Culture's forward-looking infrastructure construction-the historical site reconstruction project, hoping to reproduce Xinpu The cultural value and spirit of the various clans who did not fear hardships and established family business during the Tuoken period also allowed more people to understand the pride and glory of Xinpu.

Mr. Pan Pengren, the convener of this restoration project, and the chairman of Yimin Middle School, thanked the central ministry and the county government for their assistance and family members’ support. The Cultural Affairs Bureau stated that the 9 cultural resources of the Xinpu Ancestral Hall and Museum have completed 8 restorations, and the regional focus will be gradually transformed from the hardware restoration of historical sites to the integration of cultural assets, education promotion and revitalization operations, in order to highlight the local characteristic culture and enrich the area.
