2006: Israeli Prime Minister Sharon suffered a stroke and was sent to hospital for emergency treatment. Deputy Prime Minister Ommett assumed the power of prime minister.

2010: The Burj Khalifa, a skyscraper located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, was officially inaugurated and became the tallest building in the world.
