1947: Investigators of the Taiwan Monopoly Bureau found Lin Jiangmai, who was selling illicit cigarettes, in front of Tianma Teahouse in Taiping Town, Dadaocheng, Taipei. During the process, Lin Jiangmai was injured by the gun butts. Someone was angry after seeing them and surrounded them and captured the prisoners. The officer fired a warning shot, but wounded the citizen Chen Wenxi (died the next day after being sent to the doctor), leading to the subsequent outbreak of the February 28th Incident.

1975: Hong Kong Chinese inspector Liu Changhua was sentenced to 1 year in prison for corruption and confiscated 750,000 reconstruction properties.

1976: The Polisario Front announced the establishment of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic in Western Sahara.

1986: Ferdinand Marcos leaves the Philippines and Corazon Aquino takes office as President of the Philippines.

1986: The State Council of the People's Republic of China established the National Natural Science Foundation of China.

1991: Persian Gulf War: Kuwait restored national independence and sovereignty.

1996: The first game of the Pokémon series (red and green version) was launched in Japan.

2001: 25 Asian countries and Australia held a meeting in Boao Town, Qionghai City, Hainan Province, China, proclaiming the establishment of the Boao Forum for Asia.

2005: The World Health Organization's first international treaty, the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, was enforced in 40 countries that initially ratified the treaty.

2006: The President of the Republic of China Chen Shuibian announced the formal termination of the "National Unification Program."

2007: China's Shanghai Composite Index fell by 8.84%, and Shenzhen Component Index fell by 9.29%, the largest one-day decline since 1997, and triggered the decline of other stock markets in the world.

2020: Fan reports from Xiao Zhan broke out in mainland China, and multiple websites such as AO3's library and Steam were affected.
