1989: China's Antarctic Zhongshan Station was completed on the shore of Rasman Hills.

1991: Iraqi President Saddam Hussein announced the withdrawal of troops from Kuwait.

1993: The World Trade Center in New York, USA, was planted by an Islamic terrorist organization in the basement and caused an explosion, resulting in 6 deaths and more than 1,000 injuries.

1995: British Baring Bank declared bankruptcy, the reason is that the bank trader Nick Leeson's illegal transactions, causing the bank to lose 1.4 billion US dollars.

2001: The Taliban regime in Afghanistan destroys the Bamiyan Buddha.

2012: A strong earthquake of 6.4 on the Richter scale occurred in Pingtung County, Taiwan.

2013: A hot air balloon explosion in Luxor, Egypt, killed 19 people, including 9 Hong Kong tourists.

2014: Ming Pao editor-in-chief Liu Jintu was attacked.
