好主人也應該定期為寵物施打預防針，給予寵物適合的疫苗計畫是非常重要的，目前坊間有七合一、八合一或十合一等不同組合的疫苗型式犬複合型疫苗，可有效預防犬瘟熱、犬小病毒腸炎、傳染性肝炎等病毒性疾病；貓則有三合一、四合一及五合一等疫苗，可預防貓瘟、貓卡里西病毒及貓鼻支氣管炎等疾病，主人可以依據家中寵物的生活情況和飼養環境諮詢獸醫師，給予最適合的疫苗計畫。另外，本市仍為狂犬病疫區，犬貓施打狂犬病疫苗能有效的自我保護，提醒主人，犬貓滿3個月齡後，記得每年都要施打，否則會違反動物傳染病防治條例，被處新臺幣3萬至15萬元罰鍰喔！

為推廣動物福利，動保處以身作則，動物之家因應天氣轉冷啟動防寒機制，除籠舍加放保暖毛巾及衣物外，對於老弱幼小還有暖暖包及電熱毯加強保護，動物管理員也提高巡視動物舍頻率，以確保毛孩獲得妥善照顧。此外，園區的毛孩進所後會接種疫苗及驅蟲，雖然動物之家僅為收容中繼站，但對於犬貓的福利與照護絕不馬虎，期許大家一起來關懷身邊及園區的毛孩，另動物之家后里園區將於110年3月2日起試營運，歡迎來走走喔！
