台中市政府積極推動「台中美樂地計畫（Taichung Melody）」，逐步改善大台中老舊公園設施，其中，豐原區中正公園使用至今已46年，水源設施、步道、遊具老舊，建設局投入1,590萬元經費，規劃以豐原「糕餅文化」及「蝴蝶生態」為設計主軸，重塑友善共融公園，預計今年7月完工。

市長盧秀燕今(5)日出席中正公園景觀改善工程開工典禮表示，豐原中正公園從64年啟用至今，從未進行大規模整修，加上歷經921大地震後，步道、遊具更老舊破損；為回應地方期待，市府籌備1,590萬元經費，將改造公園既有澄泥池為攀爬區、建置環狀無障礙人行步道、導覽設施、增添嶄新遊具等，今日開工，半年後將變成共融公園，提供市民更舒適的公園休憩空間及兒童遊戲場域。

盧市長也細數過去2年豐原地區多項建設，包括圓環北路地下道填平、中正路人行天橋拆除、豐原轉運中心興建、東豐快速道路昨日通過環評，預計明年復工，以及豐原多所學校增建、增添設施等，豐原已經不一樣。

「過年前送給豐原2項大禮！」立法委員江啟臣表示，很高興中正公園景觀改善計畫動工，期待未來看到這座伴隨豐原人成長的老公園有新面貌，感謝盧市長帶領市府團隊回應地方期待，提供經費及資源，並聆聽居民建議規劃設計；另外，東豐快速道路昨日通過環評，期待工程儘速復工、完工，讓豐原山城交通更暢通。

建設局長陳大田表示，豐原區中正公園曾是日治時期水源地，是許多豐原人從小到大的回憶，歷經921大地震後，許多閒置的水源設施、步道、遊具老舊破損，也不符合無障礙使用需求，市府與地方多次溝通討論，最終共同決議優化既有設施及景觀環境。

陳局長指出，改善工程導入台中美樂地計畫，運用既有地形設計蝴蝶意象的繭型造型滑梯、改造既有澄泥池為攀爬區、建置環狀無障礙步行系統，另以糕餅意象設計遊戲區周邊休憩平台，同時整頓停車場空間，整修漆藝館前既有停車場步道空間及鋪面，並設置中正公園10景導覽解說牌，強化在地歷史環境教育，營造有趣多元的公園場域。
